Ebrahim College is committed to supporting students of knowledge who have achieved academic excellence and/or cannot afford the cost of studying courses at Ebrahim College. The Mus’ab ibn Umair Fund (MIUF) continues a tradition which existed since the establishment of college; of removing barriers for students who have the desire, ability, and commitment to study the Islamic Sciences.

If financial difficulties are a barrier for you, we encourage you to apply to the MIUF. Subject to you meeting certain criteria, we will try and find a way to support you insha Allah. However, if we are unable to support you through the MIUF, then we will advise you on other funding sources or we will help you to support yourself. One way or another, we will try our best to enable committed and talented students to study the Programmes they are interested in.

How we process applications

Due to limited funds, we will prioritise funding based upon the course applied for, in the following order:

  • Full time Alimiyyah and Dawrah al-Hadith students.
  • Full time Arabic Intensive students.
  • Part time Arabic Intensive students.

This means an applicant who is unsuccessful in securing MIUF funding award for the Arabic Intensive programme would normally stand a better chance of receiving a funding award when they progress to the Alimiyyah. Each individual application will be assessed on the applicant’s need, background, and personal statement.

Applications will not be accepted if forms are not fully completed, or the required evidence is not provided. All applicants are advised to submit a strong personal statement (minimum 250-500 words) as it will form a major part of funding decisions.

Scholarships are for assisting students to pay their fees for the course and will be paid directly to Ebrahim College. Scholarships are not awarded for any other expenses e.g. living, transport and book expenses. Ebrahim College reserves the right to provide support through the MIUF as it deems appropriate. Ebrahim College’s decisions on suitability for funding awards are final and reasons for not being awarded support are not provided.

Failure to complete the Programme or comply with student agreement

Students who have been awarded a Scholarship or Financial Support and subsequently drop out of their course or do not comply with the requirements of the student agreement without a valid reason will be liable for the full course fees..
