Choosing a Course

The chart below is a general guide to what you can study at EC depending on your existing qualifications. The chart provides information for all 6th form courses and the Islamic Sciences Programme (the 1st 3 years of the Alim course). A similar chart is provided for the remainder of the Alim course (Alimiyyah) and BA Islamic Sciences and Society at the bottom of the page.

THE ISLAMIC SCIENCES PROGRAMME (ISP): THE FIRST 3 YEARS OF THE ALIM COURSE
Combined with AS/A levels for 6th formers

THE ALIMIYYAH PROGRAMME
After completing your ISP you can complete your Alim course with a BA in Islamic Sciences and Society .

Completed Alimiyyah Year 3 from a traditional madrasah/ Darul Uloom or equivalent qualification from any other institute;
Acquired 220 UCAS points including profficiency in Arabic either through an A level or equivalent qualification (which can contribute to the 220 UCAS points).

Alimiyyah course which constitutes 3 advanced years of the Alim course up to Takmeel (Dawrah al-Hadeeth) combined with BA Islamic Sciences and Society.

At-Takmeel (Dawrah al-Hadeeth) at traditional seminaries;
MA Islamic Studies or other related MA or postgraduate course at mainstream or Islamic universities;
employment.
       
 

AT-TAKMEEL FIL-HADITH (DAWRAH AL-HADITH) AT EC

  
 
Mawquf Alaih/ Mishkat (6th year of the Alim course) from a traditional madrasah or Darul Uloom or equivalent qualification in Islamic Sciences or Shari'ah studies.

At-Takmeel (Dawrah al-Hadeeth) to complete the Alim course. More details.
