Dr Ramon Harvey, Lecturer in Islamic Studies at Ebrahim College, presented two papers at the Summer Institute for Scholars hosted by The International Institute for Islamic Thought offices in Herndon, Virginia, close to the US capital Washington DC in July. The theme of the 2017 programme was Theologies and Ethics of Justice and this fits well with Dr Harvey’s forthcoming book ‘The Qur’an and the Just Society’, due to be published by Edinburgh University Press in November. Dr Harvey’s research on justice was well-received and he has been asked to co-edit a collected volume based on the 2017 Summer Institute along with the philosopher and political theorist Dr Daniel Tutt to be published by IIIT.
