Our charity cycle from EC headquarters to Windsor Castle took place last Sunday, 30th September 2018. We were delighted to be joined by 26 EC supporters who took on the courageous 35 miles to raise awareness and funds in support of our Free Your College From Debt campaign.
The cyclists met at Altab Ali Park at 9am and were briefed by brother Shamsul Abdin, from H&K Cycling Club, with the day’s itinerary, road safety information and most importantly to remind the riders, many of whom were new to cycling, to enjoy the ride. Our very own brother Khalis Miah, EC’s fundraising manager, thanked all the participants for taking part in this years cycle challenge, discussed the college’s work, goals and vision, and reaffirmed how their efforts were enabling Ebrahim College to continue its mission of preserving Islamic Education in the UK.
The cyclists split into groups and set off from EC’s gates, led by experienced H&K cyclists and support vehicles. Gliding through the streets of London, after 2 short breaks, one buckled wheel and one puncture, we are pleased to declare that the group completed the ride in just over 4 hours with no injuries, alhamdulillah.
Our participants managed to raise over £6,000 with many donations still coming through. If you would like to show your support, you can still make a donation to one of our riders at www.everydayhero.co.uk/event/London2Windsor or you can make a direct donation to the campaign at www.ebrahimcollege.org.uk/give.
Well done to our cyclists:
