Ustadh Jabed graduated from the Institute of Islamic Education in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire in 2003. He received ijazah in hadith studies under the guidance of Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Muslihuddin, Shaykh Yusuf Darwan, Shaykh Mufti Musa Badat and Shaykh Abul Qasim. He also gained ijaazah in al-Qira’aatal-Sab’ah wal Asharah primarily from Shaykh Imtiyaz Vali then from Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Muslihuddin.
Ustadh Jabed is currently teaching Islamic Calligraphy at Ebrahim College. He was introduced to Islamic Calligraphy by renowned Khattat, Haji Nazeer Ahmed Quraishi Rahimahullah, through the Indian Naskh and Farsi scripts. He is specialising in the Diwani, Riqah Fatimid Kufic and Square kufic Scripts under the guidance of the famous Khattat, Dr Nassar Mansour of Amman, Jordan. Dr Mansour is a master calligrapher who gained his Ijaza from world renowned calligrapher (Khattat) Hasan Chelbi of Istanbul in 2003. Dr Mansour is known for reviving the Muhaqqaq script, traditionally used for copying the Quran for its grandeur.
