Course Description:

Level: Alimiyyah Programme Year 2

Context:

This module is the third year of a three-year basic undergraduate study of Ḥanafī Fiqh.  Alternatively, for students wishing to pursue a specialisation in Fiqh, this module would be the third year in a five-year course.

Learning Outcomes:

Knowledge & Understanding. Applicants will know and understand:

  • the specified subject content;
  • legal terminologies and concepts;
  • masā’il of transaction, personal law, penal law, court and international relations

Application & Skills. Applicants will be able to:

  • solve Fiqhi problems relating to worship

Prerequisites:

Applicants must be able to read and understand Arabic. They should have studied basic Fiqh in Arabic

Teaching and learning Strategies:

Hybrid (blended style),  Board work, text analysis, worksheets, handouts and workshops

Course Delivery:

This course will be delivered on campus and streamed live online using an online live streaming platform called ‘Zoom’. Lessons will be recorded and students provided access to them. Further details will be emailed to students 5 days before the course commences insha Allah.
