Women around the Messenger: Lives of the female companions of the Prophet (PBUH)
A short course on the inspirational life of Muslim women who lived during the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Why were they so inspirational? What lessons can we learn from their experiences? How can we benefit from their lives today and more?
An exploration of the lives of these ‘Women Around the Prophet (PBUH)’ will bring to light the fact that female believers played a vital role in Islamic society, and the efforts that we see today from the Muslims are inspired from these great women of the past. This course will help dispel any misconceptions by bringing into focus biographies of the first generation of Muslim women and the important roles they played in the overall development of their society, right from the onset.
The course will cover the following sahabiyyat:
- The Prophet`s (PBUH) mother
- The Prophet`s (PBUH) wet nurses.
- The Prophet`s (PBUH) foster mothers.
- The Prophet`s (PBUH) wives.
- The Prophet`s (PBUH) daughters.
- The Prophet`s (PBUH) granddaughters.
Course Delivery
This course will be delivered using an online live streaming platform called ‘Zoom’. Further details will be emailed to students 3 days before the course commences insha Allah.
